Today the delegation of the Embassies of Japan in Latvia and in Finland paid a visit to JSC Grindeks. The Embassy of Japan in Latvia was represented by H.E. Ambassador Toshiyuki Taga and the Second Secretary Mr. Mitsushige Mori and the Embassy of Japan in Finland was represented by H.E.Ambassador Kenji Shinoda and the Second Secretary Mr. Yoshiaki Miwa.
During the visit, the Ambassadors met with the JSC Grindeks board chairman Juris Bundulis, discussed opportunities for cooperation and were taken for an accompanied introductory tour at the active pharmaceutical ingredients plant.
Grindeks has had a close cooperation with Japan for many years. It dates back to the 60s years of the last century. The first contract with the Japanese pharmaceutical company “Taiho Pharmaceutical” for the original product Ftorafur ® (tegafur) substances supply was signed in 1972.
The successful cooperation with the Japanese companies currently continues and develops.
