On 26 April, which is the World Intellectual Property day, in a state-owned development finance institution ALTUM’s hall last year’s best trademark owners were congratulated. Formal awards ceremony was held in two nominations “The trademark of Latvia” and “The trademark for the World”.
JSC Grindeks received laureate diploma in nomination “The trademark of Latvia 2016” for the trademark of food supplement Lactobex®.
Contest created by Patent Office (PO) of the Republic of Latvia and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day celebrates its fifth anniversary and as the PO Director S. Laganovskis points out: “Within five years this competition has grown from the creative initiative of two institutions to Latvian-wide, most prestigious competition in the field of industrial intellectual property protection – not only in terms of the number of participants, but also in terms of visibility and popularity. ”
Within five years 468 trademarks have participated in the contest (“The trademark of Latvia” – 392, “The trademark for the World” – 76), among which there are widely recognized and loved Latvian consumer products and services.
