On 1 September, on the Day of Knowledge in Riga, Blackheads house, a solemn event took place, where participants of international olympiads and their teachers were greeted. The best pupils of Latvia took part in olympiads of informatics, math, physics, chemistry, biology and other subjects.
For several years Grindeks is successfully cooperating with the Ministry of Education and Science — with help of Grindeks fund “For the Support of Science and Education”, the best secondary school pupils for several years have been participating in international chemistry olympiads.
At the event, which was attended by the President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš and Education and Science Minister Ina Druviete, it was repeatedly emphasised that the performance of youngsters’ carries the name of Latvia widely into the world and is a pride to everyone.
This year, performance of pupils in the International Chemistry Olympiad, which took place in Vietnam, is excellent — 2 bronze medals and 2 acknowledgements. Four laureates and five teachers received acknowledgements of the President.
