On 8 and 9 October, the international Precision Medicine Networking Forum PMNET Forum 2026 took place at the National Library of Latvia in Riga, bringing together scientists, physicians, healthcare professionals, representatives of the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries, entrepreneurs, policymakers and patient organisations from Latvia and abroad. Colleagues from Grindeks’ Development Department and Commercial Department also attended the forum.
The forum focused on the development of precision medicine and its practical implementation in healthcare, with particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation between research, clinical medicine and industry. Over the two-day programme, experts discussed cancer genetics and precision oncology, molecular diagnostics, emerging treatment approaches, the use of artificial intelligence in medicine, biobank development, health and omics data analysis, as well as other topical areas.
Attention was also given to how scientific ideas can be translated more effectively into practical solutions – from attracting funding and fostering cooperation between research institutions and industry to introducing new products and technologies into healthcare. In cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, the programme also explored both Latvian and European funding opportunities for the development of health innovations.
The forum’s EXPO area gave participants an opportunity to learn more about industry companies, technologies and new solutions, as well as to establish contacts with potential cooperation partners.
For Grindeks colleagues, participation in PMNET Forum 2026 was an opportunity to follow the latest developments in science and healthcare, gain insight into current industry trends and strengthen professional cooperation in an international environment.
