This important international congress will take place in R\u012bga in 2006, at the Paulis Stradi\u0146\u0161 Medicine History Museum and it will be attended by more than 150 delegates from all over the world. The congress delegates will discuss issues related to the history of medicine, will be introduced to Latvian and R\u012bga as well as visiting the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the Baltic States, Grindeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On August 3, in preparation for the 13th Congress of the Association of European Medicine History Museums, Grindeks Chairman of the Board, Valdis J\u0101kobsons met with the joint chairmen of the aforementioned Congress \u2013 academics J\u0101nis Stradi\u0146\u0161 and Professor K\u0101rlis \u0112riks Arons, Director of the Paulis Stradi\u0146\u0161 Medicine History Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, several issues related to the organisation of the congress were reviewed, and, taking into account Grindeks\u2019 contribution to the history of the development of pharmacy and medicine, Grindeks Chairman of the Board, Valdis J\u0101kobsons was elected as the Honorary Patron of the Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that the congress in R\u012bga is due to take place during the anniversary year of the first natural scientist of Latvian origin, Professor D\u0101vids Hieron\u012bms Grindelis (1776\u2013 1836). Grindelis\u2019 name was the inspiration for the selection of the Grindeks\u2019 company name. Moreover, in 1995, the company established its highest award \u2013 the Grindelis Medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grindeks is a long-standing co-operation partner of the Paulis Stradi\u0146\u0161 Museum (www.mvm.lv) both in terms of organising exhibitions, as well as reflecting the history of the development of contemporary pharmacy and medicine in the form of a permanent exhibition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
